IVF Treatment - The Safety Scenario

Women considering in vitro fertilisation treatment for fertility problems need better information about the risks. This is especially true if they are older or have other health problems, concluded a report in the BMJ (British Medical Journal) that looked at the safety of pregnancy and childbirth after IVF.
“Safety also needs to be balanced against what people find acceptable. For example, there is no doubt that Single Embryo Transfer is safer for the mother and child than is Multiple Embryo Transfer. However, some people and some cultures are willing to take the higher risks in return for a greater chance of a pregnancy.
